Storm Island’s story began with Sara, an artist and textile designer from the Channel Islands with a love of nature and a fascination with its powers. After gaining a masters degree in the subject, she could do nothing but create beautiful, unique, handcrafted ‘storm stuff’ to bring her thoughts, designs and ideas to life, and Storm Island’s book was opened...
Inspired by the ocean, and made from a wide range of materials - from discarded shells to beautiful fabrics and handmade papers. Unique beach finds and little pieces of nature are often included - hand collected, reclaimed and recycled - crafted by the storm, created by the ocean’s movement, and inspired by the colours and shapes of marine life, Storm Island aims to bring you your own little piece of nature.
